This blog explores five unique wedding favors that your guests will actually use. So,

if you are a bride getting married on the Western Slope of Colorado, you will want to read this blog to find out how to incorporate local flair into your wedding favors. Antler Ridge Weddings, located near Ouray, Colorado, has lots of expertise on the subject as we have seen many weddings over the past 10 years. Weddings are not just about bringing two people together; they also create an experience for guests to cherish. One way to extend that experience is through wedding favors. The best wedding favors make a lasting impression and serve a practical purpose.

5 Traditional Wedding Favors Your Guests Will Actually Use

1. Personalized Wildflower Seed Packets

2. Custom Candles

3. Miniature Bottles of Olive Oil or Honey

4. Reusable Tote Bags

5. Personalized Items

After doing a google search, we found the above 5 wedding favors to be the favorites. Being a wedding venue owner for the past 10 years, we have seen a lot of wedding favors that we feel are a waste of money and most of the time are left behind. Antler Ridge has done some research for you, and the research shows that wedding favors are on the decline. But, if you are going to give a wedding favor, let's get creative! Giving wedding favors that reflect the local area you will be getting married in makes the gift more personalized and thoughtful. So if you are getting married at our Colorado wedding barn in Montrose, Colorado, we would like to share some unique wedding favor ideas we have seen in our wedding barn venue. These wedding favor ideas represent locally owned businesses on the Western Slope of Colorado.

DIY small jars of jelly using local fruit in the area with bride and grooms name and the wedding date.

  1. Small jars of local jelly from our local fruit growers. The Western Slope is known for being the home of local orchards.

  2. Provide a large bowl of local fruit depending on the season. Peaches and apples are grown in the valley, and it is a great snack for your guests to enjoy after the wedding. We love honoring locally owned businesses.

  3. Instead of giving a wedding favor, donate to a local charity, such as the local Cancer Center, Peer Kindness, or Welcome Home Alliance for Veterans. We had a bride and groom decide to do this. They put together information on a local charity that they chose and included a QR code for guests to visit the website. After speeches were finished, the groom made a brief announcement, and guests could donate if they wanted. The bride and groom more than doubled their donation, and the money went to a good cause.

  1. Another favorite that we saw this year during the indoor wedding reception was a display of all shapes, sizes, and colors of glassware. As guests entered the wedding reception area, they were able to choose a glass to keep and use for the night.

  2. Another idea we saw at Antler Ridge this past year was small jars of different flavors of homemade moonshine that the bride had made.

  3. Edibles are always a good idea, such as large bread pretzels for everyone to take home. Each pretzel can be put in a bag that has a personal message with both the bride and groom's name and wedding date.

So our advice is to be creative, think local, and create a memory!

Choosing the perfect wedding favors involves striking a balance between meaningful and practical. The favors suggested above are not only unique but are also designed to be genuinely useful for your guests, making them memorable tokens of your special day. By selecting something unique and creative, you will ensure that your guests will think of you long after the last dance.

Remember, thoughtful details can leave a lasting impression, so don’t shy away from putting your personal touch on these practical gifts. They’ll serve as fond reminders of a beautiful celebration of love and togetherness. Happy planning!

Is it rude not to have wedding favors?

No, if wedding favors do not fit in your budget or are something you don't want to include, you can certainly skip this tradition. In fact, in most cases, guests don't even miss the tradition.
