Fall: Wedding Flower Arrangements

Updated: Sep 17

Consider some of these Fall Wedding Flowers for your perfect Fall Wedding Arrangements at Antler Ridge Weddings.

Fall is a magical time at Antler Ridge Weddings! It's hard to beat with vibrant colors, crisp air, stunning natural backdrops and the sound of our bugling bull elk. But some of the most captivating elements of a fall wedding is undoubtedly the flowers! As the leaves change and the world transforms into a canvas of warm hues, couples have the perfect opportunity to incorporate the beauty of the changing season into their floral arrangements. Here are some ideas and inspirations for choosing the perfect fall wedding flowers.

By combining a mix of seasonal flowers like sunflowers, dahlias, chrysanthemums, roses, and asters, you can craft a stunning autumn bouquet, wedding arch or center pieces.

Embrace the Warm Tones

Autumn is famous for its vibrant and warm color scheme. Picture shades like deep reds, burnt oranges, golden yellows, and earthy browns. When choosing flowers, opt for types that embody these hues. Here are a few top picks:

- Roses: Opt for deep red or orange varieties to add a romantic touch.

- Chrysanthemums: Available in various colors, these blooms are perfect for creating texture and depth.

- Dahlias: These stunning flowers come in a range of colors, making them a versatile choice for fall arrangements.

- Sunflowers: Bright and cheerful, sunflowers can add a sunny vibe to your autumn wedding.

Incorporating Seasonal Foliage

Remember to incorporate seasonal foliage along with flowers. Fall aspen leaves and greenery can enhance the beauty of your floral displays. To create a more rustic look, you can add natural elements like berries, wheat, or eucalyptus to your bouquet. Here are some excellent choices:

- Aspen Leaves: Their vibrant reds and oranges and yellows can add a striking accent.

- Eucalyptus: With its soft green and silver tones, eucalyptus provides a lovely contrast and a calming element.

- Ferns: Their delicate fronds can introduce a touch of elegance and softness.

Unique Floral Choices for Fall

While traditional blooms are always a hit, consider incorporating some unique options that embody the spirit of fall:

- Amaranthus: This cascading flower adds drama and texture to arrangements.

- Berries: Incorporating seasonal berries like hypericum or viburnum can add pops of color and interest.

- Thistles: Their unique shape and color can add an unexpected twist to your floral design.

Textures and Layers

Fall is a time of transition, and incorporating different textures into your floral arrangements can reflect that. Mixing soft petals with sturdy branches or combining smooth berries with fluffy blooms can create a visually stunning effect. Consider using elements like:

- Dried Flowers and Antlers: Pampas grass and dried lavender can add an earthy, rustic touch. Or even incorporate antlers! In addition, you can wrap the bouquet with burlap or twine to enhance the rustic feel.

If you're looking for centerpiece inspiration, consider using a rustic wooden box, a mason jar, or a copper vase as the foundation. Fill the chosen container with a mix of fall blooms and foliage such as sunflowers, dahlias, roses, and autumn leaves. Enhance the arrangement by incorporating candles or votives to evoke the essence of Fall. Alternatively, you could opt for a centerpiece crafted from a hollowed-out pumpkin or gourd. Utilizing the pumpkin or gourd as a unique vase for autumn flowers!

Lucky for Antler Ridge, we are locally owned and operated wedding venue and work closely with our vendors! We were able to call up of friend, Stephani, at Alpine Foral and ask her about the upcoming fall wedding season. Stephani loves doing arrangements for wedding at Antler Ridge and this is what she had to say.

"Fall 2024 floral trends are a hot topic! At Alpine Floral we love using rich burgundy tones and rust oranges for fall weddings. This year small to medium sized bouquets with a flowing organic style have been popular as well as more focus on the ceremony flowers such as aisle décor and arbor pieces. The flowers we love to use the most in wedding work are dahlias, ranunculus, straw flowers, and lots of different grasses and greenery. Fall weddings are a favorite with the changing colors and spectacular views especially at Antler Ridge!"
