Why do people elope instead of having a regular wedding?
Everyone's reasons are a bit different. but here are the most common ones:
· One or both partners are introverts and don't like being around too many people
· You don't like getting too emotional in front of other people while reading vows
· You want to feel a connection with nature and take a break from people
· You want to feel more intimately connected to each other, and spend those moments fully embracing your togetherness
· An elopement can be more budget-friendly, whereas a big (or small) wedding costs a lot more money. Money you could spend on each other instead, or on travelling or your future home
· Eloping is a lot less stressful, a bigger wedding seems like way too much planning

How can I elope? shawnaraephotography.com had some tips on how to make it happen:
The simple answer; you just do it! The "how" is what this article is all about, so keep reading to find all the information you need. Perhaps you really do want to "just do it", but I'm sure most of you want to incorporate certain aspects, like a wedding dress/suit, special location, maybe some flowers, etc. But long story short, there is no one-way to elope, you do it however suits you as a couple.
Hire vendors for your elopement and pick a date together
Before you've even chosen a date, it's important to first chat with some vendors. Photographers or planners can get booked up over a year in advance; some people even book two years ahead! Before hiring anyone, I highly recommend chatting with potential planners and/or photographers. Then, once you know what date you can hire your dream planner and/or photographer, you can start booking your flights, accommodation, and other vendors around that. If you want video for your special day as well, it is also important to think about that early on as well. Your photographers and planner will be able to give you recommendations on videographers.
At Antler ridge Weddings we make it easy. You just need to have your Wedding Dress, the Grooms outfit, and your marriage license to sign and hire one of our local Photographers like Jayna Rose Photography and we can provide the Wedding Arch. Imagine the two of you saying your own vows under a wedding arch with a backdrop of a pond and magestic mountain views at Antler Ridge Weddings , we also have a wedding cottage you can stay in for your ultimate wedding honeymoon. An intimate dinner can be caterered by one of our local resturants.
Still feeling like you want to get those final work projects done….Here are a few more reasons to elope in 2024 from www.mountainwed.com
Less stressful.
Think about all of the logistics that go into a traditional wedding day. There’s the venue, which needs to be booked in advance. There’s the catering and the cake, the band and the seating chart. There’s the flowers and the flower girl. There’s the wayward thunderstorm (or global pandemic) that threatens to derail your special day. And then, of course, there’s the drama, even in the best of families. Distant cousins who take advantage of the open bar. In-laws who squabble. You get the picture.
Eloping takes a lot of that stress out of the picture. You can get married anywhere, anytime, on any day you like. All that’s needed is you, your partner, an officiant (a friend can be ordained for free here), and of course, a photographer. With fewer things to stress about, you can focus on what really matters: entering your new chapter with the love of your life in a way that honors your wishes and not those of everyone else.
Greater freedom.
Don’t put your love on hold any longer. Eloping can be a wonderful way to take back the reins, honor your love, and get started on the next chapter of your life in a way that feels authentic to you.
Eloping is hardly a ‘step down’ from having a traditional wedding. If anything, it’s a ‘step up.’ Get married when, where, and how you want. It’s your day, after all!
More intimate.
Family expectations can sometimes muddy the waters when it comes to planning for the big day. It’s not enough that you and your partner have your own visions for what your wedding day should look like, and sometimes parents, family members, and friends also can put pressure (often unknowingly) on couples to make their wedding day look and feel a certain way. Add in 100 of your closest friends (and their dates, some of which you’ve never met), and your special day starts to feel less like “yours” and more like “theirs.”
Eloping is the ultimate way to re-center the focus of your wedding day on you, your partner, and the love you two share.
